“We have decided, together with Terre des Hommes, to escape the logic of pure assistance and emergency in the reception of immigrants, and we are now trying to build real paths towards integration for these children who have dramatic pasts behind them, but who also have important resources to exploit for the future,” states Chiara Alluisini, Secretary General of the Fondazione Marcegaglia.
The first phase of the project Scholarships for Foreign Unaccompanied Minors, a project born by the cooperation between Terre des Hommes and the Fondazione Marcegaglia, was concluded with great success. The assignment of the scholarships for foreign unaccompanied minors is part of the Faro project, whose main objective is to protect children immigrants who arrive in Italy. This initiative is conducted in the framework of the “Destination Unknown” Campaign for the protection of children on the move in a world where children try to escape war, poverty and violence.
