Time: 17:00 - 18:00
Location: United Nations - Geneva

During the 32nd Session of the Human Rights Council, Terre des Hommes is co-organising a side-event on the theme “Guiding actions concerning children on the move and other children affected by migration”.

We Are What We Do, Not What We Say

The side event will discuss strategies to influence policy makers and other stakeholders responsible for implementing measures that affect the rights and needs of these children.  Youth in country of origin and migrant youth will share citizen initiatives and their views of a harmonious society.

The event aims to promote principles to guide actions concerning children on the move and other children affected by migration and reflect on the discrepancies between what we say and what we do to protect these children. These “Principles” take note of the recommendations set out in the Committee on the Rights of the Child’s 2012 Day of General Discussion Report on “The Rights of All Children in the Context of International Migration”.
