What we want

Children on the move across the world are a complex and growing phenomenon. Destination Unknown is determined to ensure these vulnerable children have the right to move, as well as to be protected.

Simplistic attempts to stop children from moving by national governments and intergovernmental institutions have proven to be completely ineffective, and violate the fundamental right of a child to move.

Children moving around is neither good nor bad in itself. But children on the move are always at risk of falling through society’s cracks – making them extremely vulnerable to violence, abuse and exploitation.

Our ten demands are the cornerstone to everything the campaign does, and Destination Unknown has developed nine principles which governments and intergovernmental institutions must adhere to to truly protect and support children on the move.
